Detroit mom, Katie Stricker Curtis felt no need to be too serious about her birth. Although she was in labor pain, she put on a Chewbacca mask and began filming.
In the video Katie holds her stomach and is clearly in the process of giving birth, while laying in a hospital bed. However, all of her cries of agony only come out in Shyriiwook, the Wookielanguage from Star Wars.
The mask instantly translates any language into Shryiiwook, making for a delightfully funny video. Katie’s video was clearly inspired by the viral hit of “Chewbacca Mom,” who famously Facebook lived her infectious laughter in the costume.
“Just because I’m about to be a mom doesn’t mean I have to grow up!” She wrote when she shared the hilarious video on Facebook.
The mother gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Jayden after her birth-turned-play-time.
“Hilarious… It made me laugh thanks for sharing!!” One woman wrote on Facebook.
“The woman who gave birth while wearing a Chewbacca mask is the kind of woman I aspire to be,” another Tweeted.
“Oh My Goodness! This is hilarious! It should go viral, be a big hit for sure! My prayers for smooth delivery and awesome, healthy baby,” another woman commented.
